There is quite a long history behind the Hartsell's in TN
Hannah Anthony Hartsell shows up in Washington Co TN
some where around 1820s or 1830s. She had 3 sons and
several daughters. They came from NC. No one is really
sure what her husbands name was but Jacob has been generally accepted. Her son Jacob settled in Washington Co.
Her other two sons Isaac and Abraham made their way to
Cocke Co. I am not sure of all the sons and descendants of
Isaac. I am from Abrahams line. My grandfather was
Oscar Lemmuel Hartsell, son of John Harrison Hartsell, son of Abraham Hartsell. My grandfather had a brother that
was refered to as Bill, I think his name was William.
He left Cocke Co and wasn't heard from after that. My
mother is still living and can't remember where he went
if she ever knew. Not sure if this will help but gives you a few more avenues.
