Sylvia,Your Lizzie HIRTZEL was the sister of my great grandfather, Joseph John HIRTZEL. She was born April 24, 1880 in Seymour, Indiana. She married Ernest MEDLOCK on August 28, 1901 in Seymour, Indiana. Her parents were Joseph HIRTZEL and Caroline SCHNEIDER. Joseph HIRTZEL was born on May 16, 1843 in Rixheim, Haut-Rhin, France and he died in Seymour, Indiana on Jan 4, 1928. Joseph's parents were Nicholas HIRTZEL, born circa 1811 in France and Geneva TRENDEL born circa 1812 in France. I have just recently found the microfilm with Joseph's birth in Alsace Lorraine. I have not been able to find where his parents were born or married yet. That is my next search after Christmas. The HIRTZEL family belonged to St. Ambrose parish in Seymour. You can order the microfilm from a family history center for the St. Ambrose Catholic church records in Seymour, Jackson Co, Indiana. The SCHNEIDER family lived in Decatur Co, Indiana and I have the SCHNEIDER family traced back into Germany. I would be happy to share what I have with you. I also would love info on Nicholas HIRTZEL and Geneva TRENDEL if anyone else on this site may have it. Karen Hirtzel Kiefel
