An added note in response...there is no Marie Bouknight listed in the Geneology. Every Hartsell who was born that had a birth record in NC, especially Stanly County and surrounding area, can be found in this geneology. Are you sure of the name of your grandmother's mother? If her father is "Oscar" from Stanly he has to be one of the two listed or he didn't have a birth certificate and won't be able to be traced otherwise most likely. Cousin Eunice Hartsell Sechler, the author of this book, spent twenty years researching and she has pretty much covered everyone in her effort....I will search again to see if I can find a record of your grandmother from SC if you can send me more information about her.
