Stacy, I don't know if you have this information, but thought I would send it along. Not much, as I am researching the Harton family, also. :John Harton seems to be the oldest child. He married Peggy Yancy on Nov. 11, 1780. On Nov. 25, 1801, Gideon Pegram and Burwell gave 1000 lbs. bond because Gideon was appointed guardian of Daniel Harton.Gideon Pegram filed an accounting with the court for expenses and schooling of John and Thomas Harton, also orphans of John Harton. This showed income from two plantations. On August 21, 1804, John and Thomaswere then thirteen and eleven years, and were apprenticed to their uncle, Gideon Pegram, and Gideon was to love and care for them , and instruct them in the art of a planter, and teach them to read and write. This was to prepare them for the two plantations left by their father. Marilyn
