Here Jane is quoted as saying:My name is Jane Harton Peyrouse and I have been collecting information on the descendants of Thomas Harton of Warren County, NC. Howell Harton was his oldest son. Howell served in the North Carolina militia during the Revolution and was wounded at the battle of Guilford Courthouse. He drew a pension based on his service and wound. Although he moved from Warren County to Rutherford County, NC, he deeded his land to his son Harbert about 1817 and went further west because the Hamilton County, Tennessee, pension office reported his death on 24 May 1832. On the internet I see where one researcher lists Howell's wife as Mary.Another told me her name was Sarah.Do you know which is correct?
