My great-grandfather, William Hartney
was born May 1837 in County Limerick and
wound up in Chicago.
He married Catherine O'Keefe and, as
far as I know, had only two daughters--
Mary Hartney Duffin and Catherine [ Kit ]
Hartney Grogan.
The latter is my maternal grandmother.
I believe he had a brother Owen.
Owen was a fireman and William drove a
horse drawn street car.
All these people are buried in Calvary
cemetary in Evanston.
