I don't know if any of Robert's children went to Virginia. He had 8 by 2 different wives. I only know about his oldest son, John Smith Hartness. It says in the book, I told about earlier, that after John's first wife, Elizabeth Cooper Smith, died in 1816 he moved to Greene Co. Alabama. with most of his children. Don't know where the others went. I've just started researching this line, so I don't know alot. Robert and his uncle, John Smith, were big plantation owners in the Bullock's Creek area of York Co. SC according to this book.
