I am trying to find the family of or information on Arthur "Bid" Hartley. Uncle Bid was the son of Arthur J Hartley and Matilda (Swisher) Hartley. He was born in Miami County, Ohio around 1872. My mother remembers him from a visit that he and his wife made to Ohio, having come for the visit from Buffalo, NY. She seems to remember calling his wife "Aunt Idie" (perhaps her name was Ida?).
I am playing a hunch here but I believe that he probably worked in Buffalo for an ironworks factory that was a subsidiary of Dayton Malleable Iron of Dayton, Ohio.
Mom says that when Uncle Bid died it would have been around the year 1943. There is no one remaining alive anymore who might have more information than I've provided here.
If anyone out there has any leads, please let me know.
