Alfred Hartley/O'Connor family/Leeds ca. 1880

Trying to solve a family puzzle. We were told recently by a distant cousin that my great-uncle, Alfred Hartley O'Connor, was named after a "family friend" to the Daniel O'Connor family of Leeds, England. Daniel O'Connor died in 1867 at the age of 43, and his son, James Daniel O'Connor, named one of his sons after this mysterious Alfred Hartley. Would any Hartley family members know of this particular incident, or any relationship the O'Connors would have had with this particular Hartley family?

Sorry for such sketchy details, but that is all I have.

Thank you for your time.
