My earliest HARTLEY ancestor is, I believe, Ann HARTLEY, daughter of John and Ann (nee BARNS)bapt.1778. My Ann married Richard EDEN at Epwell, Oxon in 1800. After Richard's death in 1808, she re-married in 1810 to James GILKES. When Ann died in 1855, her age was given as 81 which would calculate her birth as 1774.
The only other record for an Ann in Great Tew was baptised in 1787, and would therefore not be eligible agewise.
I would love to make contact with anyone with HARTLEY connections in this village.
