I believe William did have a brother, James in Va. I have a copy of a deed in which William and Sarah Hershey of Washington County, Ohio signs over land in VA (now WV)to his brother James. The deed also lists his brothers John and Henry G. It also lists his father as William. The deed is dated Nov, 1852. His father's Will also lists his sisters as Mary, Rebecca, Catherine, and Elizabeth. In many records in VA this family is listed as Hershey, Hersha, Hershay, Harsha, Harshay, Hasha, Hurshey, etc... I think William went with or later joined his sister Catherine and her husband George Coler in Ohio. I have found Ohio land records on the internet which shows George Coler buying land in Ohio 1831/06/01. Then I found records for William Harsha in the same township dated 1835/04/02. I will glady share any of this material.
