Frederick Harsh/Hersh re dau Sarah Wotring
But I'm curious as to how she came up with Frederick's first name as being George. There is a George Frederick Harsh who resided in Washington Co, PA and is listed on the DAR website as a Revolutionary Soldier but he is definitely not the Frederick Harsh who migrated from Maryland to Preston Co, WV. Where did "George" come from is my question.
Does anyone have "documentation" of any kind that Sarah Harsh, who married Jacob Wotring, was the daughter of Frederick Harsh and Catherine Core?
History of Preston Co, WV by Morton says he was a JP until 1831.Findagrave.com shows his b & d as 1760-1831. But on Rev War records he was alive in 1833 signing documents, as JP, verifying other soldier's service in the Revolution (FOLD3.com). Was he, himself, a soldier in the American Revolution? If not, all the Frederick Harsh/Hersh service records from 1777 to 1780 in the German Regiment of the Continental Troops, Maryland, were for his father.
