Hi Charles,
Again, quoting from Ethel Harryman's book, "Charles, the second child of Elijah and Salomey Harryman, was b. 27 Dec. 1796 in Monongahala Co., Va." Earlier she stated, referring to Elijah, "Somehow he escaped the census recording in Va in 1800 even though he was head of a household. He, along with his father, was listed as an early landowner from 1788-1806 in Monongalia Co., Va."
I do not know if the Harrymans of Carroll Co., VA are descended from the Maryland Harrymans. My line is through Charles Harryman + Elizabeth Raven = Elijah + Hannah Salome Kratzer = Charles + Margaret McKinney = Harvey Jackson + Mary Ellen Morgan = Flora May Harryman, my grandmother. The family migrated to Indiana, then to Kansas, and finally, at the turn of the 19th century, to California!
