I finally decided to go to Hagerstown, Md and vist Rose Hill Cemetery. With that decision made came the need to go to the Hall of Records on Rowe Blvd., Annapolis. I aquired a copy of the original St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church Records on CD, there. I also purchased Washington Co., Md., Cemetery Records vols six and seven. Purchased a bound copy of Washington Co., Md. Church records of the 18th century, Hagerstown, Clearspring, Williamsport, Leitersburg, Funkstown, Cearfoss. This is a collection of vital records taken from German Lutheran and reformed churches at Hagerstown, Salem (Cearfoss Pike), Funkstown, St. Pauls's near Clearspring, Jacob's near Leitersburg and Williamsport. Excerpts from vestry minutes of the Episcopal Church of St. John's at Hagerstown are also included. All graves at St. John's were removed for building expansion and moved to Rose Hill. The headstones were used for sidewalk construction, per the authur of the cemetery books. My ancestor had Monument for his service during the revolution. The graves were moved to a mass grave(Rose Hill Cemetery Sect D. Lot 116) and no marker was placed. It's just a large open space @##$^&^$@@@%^*({! Did you get that? This I find difficult to undersatnd.???? I have entered quite a few graves at WWW.FindAGrave.com James S. Harry Notify Administrator about this message?
