I have a John Harry in one of my history books as being a lad when his parents, Allan Harry and wife moved from VA to KY, shortly aftward coming on up to IN and located in GRant Co, where John Harry's boyhood was spent. He then went to FRanklin Co, IN and married Catherine Spears who also was born in VA and had come to IN by way of KY with her parents. He then left and fought the southern rebellion.Mr. Harry was on one occasion captured by the enemy for 9 mos.Upon completion of his service he returned to FAyette Co. IN and attempted to resume farming. He had sufferingsfrom therebel prison and he died in 1871 leaving a widow and4 children, William Thomas Harry, John Harry and Mmrs. Gertrude Reed and Mrs. Matilda Maple. Some time after the death of her soldier husband the mother of the children married Richard Daniels and was living near Milton, Wayne Co. IN.(The rest of this biography goes on about William T. Harry and his life in Fayette County IN, which marries into my ancestors by the name of Brumfield.)
