Michael was born in Scotland July,6,1858. I don't have parent's names for him. As a child he fell and broke his leg and it didn't heal properly. It stopped growing and he walked with a limp the rest of his life.
He use to go to the shipyards and scavenge wood to sell for money for books. The ship carpenters took pity on him and taught him cabinetmaking. When he came to Scranton PA USA He worked for the Erie Lackawanna Railroad making private cars for rich people at the end of the 1800's.
The records my dad gave me did suggest of a possible name change form Heraghty He had a first wife whose name I don't have yet and children Anna, Genevieve (Geneva), Patrick F, Hubert and Miles. Then he married my Grandmother Margaret Gibbons in 1897 in Scranto PA. and they had Marian, Marjorie, Helen, John, and Elizabeth. I'm Marjorie's granddaughter.
