Mitchell Thompson and Elizabeth Harrison of NY had son Samuel S. Thompson
Dear All,
I have a Mitchell Thompson (1800s) who married an Elizabeth Harrison of Newtown Hamilton, County Armagh, Ireland (now United Kingdom ).On 25 August 1873 they married in Smithville, Chenango County, New York, but may not have lived there long.Elizabeth Harrison was born 5 April 1855 when her parents lived in New York. She was baptized on 8 May 1855.This baptism in New York was recorded back in Castleblayney, County Monaghan, Ireland, where the Harrisons were from. The young couple then returned to Ireland to ahve several more children.
Elizabeth Harrison returned to the U.S. and married Mitchell Thompson. He may or may not be the Mitchell Thompson son of Mich from Rensselaer County.
Mitchell Thompson and Elizabeth had at least one son, Samuel S. Thompson who in 1925 was living in Brookly. As I just found Samuel today I ahve not looked him up in the census.I would appreciate hints or outright census records.:)
Elizabeth Harrison Thompson was buried in Green-wood or Greenwood Cemetery, Brooklyn, New York on 5 December 1925.
In 1925 Elizabeth's surviving brothers were Arthur and Andrew Harrison. Her son Samuel S. Thompson of Brooklyn also survived her.
I believe that she also had siblings baptized [after her] in Ireland who included Margaret, George, and Olivia.
Elizabeth was the daughter of Josias Wilson Harrison (son of Arthur Noble Harrison OF IRELAND, not of NYC; he was the son of John, son of James of Churchill) and of Mary Harrison (daughter of George Harrison).
If interested, do write me.Thank you.
Polly Lynn
