Samuel Harrington
Hello Harringtons,
I broke through my brick wall in November and I found that
my grgrgr grandfather Johnathan Harrington b 1804 was born
in Barre, Ma. His father was Samuel and onJohnathan's death certificate his mother was only listed as "S" Harrington. I promptly wrote to the Barre town clerk and she informed me
that there is no b.c. for Johnathan in Barre and that shesearchedall hervital records and found noHarringtons in Barre, Ma. at all. SoSPLAT!! I've hit the wall again.
Johnathan married Louisa Reniff on 27 January, 1827. Louisa
was from Buckland, Ma. The town records of Buckland unfortunately burned so I have no ideaif Johnathan and Louisamarried in Buckland orFranklin County. A distant cousin sent me a list of Buckland Marriage Intentions but
it only went from 1790's to1801. I have no clue where he
found the list of Intentions. Is there perhaps anotherlist
of Buckland Intentions thatwould cover 1827? Is there a list of Marriage Intentions covering 1827 for Berkshire County, Ma. orMarriage Intentions forWorcester County for 1827,(as thatis what county Johnathan isoriginally from?) It is noted
in the "HISTORY OF BUCKLAND" that Louisa Reniff married "Harrington" but again it doesn't say where. In 1831
I find Louisa and Johnathan in Battenville, N.Y., Washington
County, in 1833 I find them in Lee, Ma.,Berkshire County.
I have no idea how to find Samuel Harrington orJohnathan's
mother. Kind members ofmy Worcester "list" have sent me
allthe Samuel Harrington's they could findon various
Worcester records but so far I haven't been able to connect
Johnathan toany of the Samuel's that were listed as being
born in, dying in, or receiving a pension in Worcester. I do
valueall my "listers" help though. Any information anybody
can giveme about Johnathan Harrington ofBarre, Ma. or his fatherSamuel will be appreciated. Renne Blocker
