There may be a possibility that William Harriman was born William Reed and adopted by a David Harriman who married Nancy Reed.
Our researcher comments: In fact, William Reed is listed as William Harriman in the 1850 census of Marion County OH, where his stepfather, David, and mother, Nancy, are residing.
However, contrary to that is the info on the death record of William's daughter, Lucinda (Harriman) Love, which states that her father, William Harriman, was born in Noble Co. OH. However, Noble county OH did not come into existence until 17 years after William's birth.
I wonder if Susan has ever contacted Tonya McDonald... they may be cousins?? Tonya states in her email that she has been researching the Harrimans for over 20 years. Her grandfather was Charles' father, William, who she says spelled his name "Haryman" on his gravestone but which her father spelled Harriman.Suggest you look for Tonya!!PaulAssoc.
