Mike,
I found this in the Gentleman's magazine, which has had a few references to the Harries.
At New Romney, Sarah-Margaret, wife of Mr Joseph Harper, dau of the late Rev John Harries, Rector of St. John's, Newfoundland, and
Chaplain to the garrison there.
Gentleman's Magazine Vol 195 page 213year 1853
There is also an earlier mention in this magazine of Phoebe and her children left badly off after the death of her husband.
Sarah was listed as one of REv. John's children in a Newfoundland book- I think H Mosdell's-which described the establishment of a school in about 1806- his daughter Sarah performed at a school play.
Jack Harris is an MP from Newfoundland and related to my family.
My grandfather, who married Mary Harris, was also an MP, and MHA in the 1949-1962 period. He was Solicitor Gen. under Diefenbacker's govt.
Mary Harris's father, John Harris, was a politician in St. John's as well. He was involved in setting up libraries, and the Catholic Cadet Corps, and had something to do with the Banks.
Will be in touch soon.
I think I have sent you an email
