Levi Harrell born 1750 is suppose to be papa of the GA Harrell line as most say seven of his sons came to GA some time after 1800 into old Wilkenson Co GA formed indian lands about 1802 then ended up in Telfair (formed 1807 -- Pulaskie (1808) -- Dodge (1870) and parts of others cut from old Wilkenson but mainly these three.
Trouble is the dates tied in with him and these seven sons don't fit what can be found on possible documents to show who he wed and who were his kids.
Earlies reference to Levi Harrell shows up in 1768 in old craven SC on a land record...Then by 1787 he shows up son of Jacob Harrell appointed exeuctor to Jacob will that date..in which Jacob leaves his home and land to a grandson Jacob over Levi and two other sons Lewis (who already by will had all he was going to get but 3 guiene from papa) and Jasper who split things left over with the other children of Jacob...Levi Harrell -- Leacy Barfield -- Selah Simmons -- Ann Timmons -- Martha Curtis -- Mary Black. He clearly notes Levi is son to be exeuctor and then grandson to get home and land so we know there were two of them but can't say for sure that son Levi was actual father of grandson Levi.. as nothing in will clears that up.. One can assume that grandson since born 1777 was only ten thus practical his father not an uncle be his guardian thus exeuctor to will but on the other hand it possible his father died earlier and all that was left was Uncle Levi.. and he was named for the Uncle not his own papa...as this might explain no Jacob named in will of 1787.. but then Jasper could be nickname and he a Jacob real name wise..As figure Jasper was probably a minor in 1787 possibly born around same time as his nephew Levi in 1777...As Lewis the other son most fix born in 1767 and then Levi born in 1750 put Jacob born 1734 having sons from 1750 (age 26) to 1777 (age 43) so possible and may put him married twice at least accounting for lack of a name being found on his wife(s).. or noted in his will of 1787...
As the DAR records note Levi Harrell RS died after 1790 mainly because he didn't show up on census after this time..and also assume facts not proven about his wives one must take a closer look at him and who he may have wed and when..as also some of the history one the seven sons fixed to him don't add up date wise with events they were said involved in..They fix them born between 1804 when Levi suppose to have taken second wife as half brothers to main four.. then have them all three born before 1806 Levi dead for sure and most likely dead in 1805 in SC as his papers on his estate were filed in 1806 and have dates back to 1805 in them indicating he was dead by then..also it's possible he died not in SC but in MS in 1803..as at this time the area was still considered GA claimed lands all way to MS river and Natchez..
Anyway still digging on all this and trying to find that record that will provide the information needed to clear up this Harrell Juncle.. around Levi Harrell RS born 1750 died 1805
