Just picked up some interesting information from England on Harrell..
As Doctor Christianus Harrell served as doctor to Charles II during the period that Charles II was giving away most of the Americas in form of Carolinas 1663.He was owed a good deal of funds for his servies and later earn around 200 pounds from William III and wife Mary II.. as mainly the main doctor to Mary.. he also is noted as being present for the autopsy on William III..
From another record found Cristianus married a Mary Rumpf, daughter of Peter Rumpf and wife Anne, Mary was born in the Hague in Holland and in 1698 was naturalized and English Citizen at the Church of Saint Martin's Westminister as the wife of Cristianus.Cristianus may have passed away in 1713 as a will for a Cristianus was probated then being written in 1708, this possibly leaves his heirs picking up any funds owed him and lands given him.As also possible he was given and English Title of Count as by 1731 there is a Countess of Harrell who is noted in cororner report on the drowning of a servent in the Thames River in the Kingston area..The servant a Joseph Page was from Petersham and English area.Have yet to find real name of the Countess of Harrell but could well be Christanus wife Mary or one of his daughter even a daugher-in-law..As it was not uncommon for Charles II and following English kings to pay debts by granting lands in America to those they owed funds or favors to.
Earliest Harrell noted was a John Harrell of Herne who owner or ran a bar/pub and his wife Margerette was almost raped by a visitor to the bar/pub and they all ended up in English Court at Old Bailey on this issue around 1605.Later there is a Thomas Harrell who was a clerk of local church and passed this on to his son also Thomas who possibly by 1802 was one wed to a Martha and may have been first or at least one of the first to move to America and the Nansemond Co VA area before 1800.
Still digging to see what might find to connect all the left feet in this strange family to one skeleton...
