Dear Ms. Rushing,
I am, I believe, a descendant of Nany Catington. My grandfather was Clarence Catington of Savage, Maryland. My father was James Douglas Catington, born to Clarence Catington and Birdie Gwendolyn Stephens Catington, in 1919.Clarence worked in Savage Mill.
There is precious little information about the Catington family available and it is intriguing to learn of Nany's existence, though where she fits on the family tree is unknown to me.Depending on her age in your photograph, she could be a sister to Clarence, a cousin, or even his mother, as the 1915 date on your photo preceeds my father's birth by four years.
Her name is a link which may allow us to unearth more information about our family. My dad was an only child and he passed away in 1995.Most of the other relatives have also died, so much of our family history has been lost.
I would be very grateful to receive any information you may have regarding the history of the photograph or perhaps, if it might be arranged, a copy of it, for which I'd be very happy to pay.
I wish you much success in your research of your family history. It appears that our relatives were, at least, acquainted!
Sincerely, Michelle Porter
