This event started before 1766 and was over by 1771 but fueled the fires that would become the American Revolution from 1774 until 1784 that freed America from Enlish rule.
I came on this while trying to check some Militia Officers named on American Revolution pensions before 1840 on certain Harrells from South Carolina that were known to be involved between both North Carolina and South Carolina in the American Revolution and before that time..Several of these American Officers they served under were among those leading the North Carolina Militia against the Regulators at Alamance...The second link better explains the feelings and effects of this one early event and where it took place and over what time frame before the American Revolution...
