WOW!! I've been looking for this family for quite some time."Descendants of Matthew Malachi Rushing" has Rosannah Rushing b ~1806 m Jesse Harrell with the children listed above, but no place and no birthdates for any of the children or for their father, Jesse Harrell. This Rushing pedigree has Rosannah as a daughter of Malachi Rushing (1760-1850) and Elizabeth Matthew. The Rushing line was from Anson Co NC, and they were also across the state line in Cheraws SC.It may be pertinent R. S. John Harrell (b Bertie NC 1761, > Anson NC 1763, wife Jane d 1828, pension app Anson 1832, d 1840 ?AL) had a daughter Rosannah who married Laben Rushingand emigrated to Sumter co AL in 1839.
This is the first time I have seen a marriage date and location for Henry Harrell Ga>Al>TX>Tulare CA, who married Catherine/Casterenne Tillman/Tilghman in 1833.Their eldest son was named Simon, and I have a unaccounted-for son of Simon Harrell Jr, son of R. S. Simon Harrell of Edgecombe NC > Warren GA.Simon Harrell Jr married Virginia Jane Rushing in 1806 in Warren Co GA, daughter of R. S. John Rushing of the Anson/Cheraws Rushings.
I have recently established that the James Harrell who spent most of his life in Anson Co NC (sons Reuben and Isaac) and died in Jasper Co GA in 1823 was a son of Reuben Harrell of Pitt Co NC, son of Henry, son of Edward d Bertie 1752 and Ann House.Michael/Micajah Harrell, eldest sonof R. S. Simon Harrell, lived in Pitt Co NC.His (alas, still presumptive) son Simon Harrell (b 1804 NC, d 1857 Sumter Co GA) spent most of his adult life in Warren Co GA but had ties to Anson Co NC.
I don't know if any of this helps or makes sense, but it does seem like there may be a connection here somewhere.I have more details if you're interested.
