Karan,
Here is what I have and the ASSUMPTIONS that I have made.My uncle has documentation that my GGGFather, Levi Thomas Harrell, was born in Alabama in 1832.He had a brother named John P. Harrell that was the executor of his, Levi Thomas', estate when he died.My uncle has documentation that this John P. was married to a Catherine. My uncle has documentation that John P. was at one time living in Pike County, AL.
My uncle has the 1860 LA census.Levi Thomas Harrell is listed in Union Parish, LA.He is listed as a farmer from AL.He is listed as 28 years old.
His wife is listed as R. Smith Harrell from South Carolina. She is listed as 27 years old.
R. Jane Harrell - listed as 6 yrs old.
Susan Victoria - listed as 4 yrs old.
Mary Elizabeth Harrell - listed as 1 yr old.
Somehow, I am not sure how, my uncle knows that Levi Thomas wife was a REBECCA.
Assumption:R. in R. Jane = Rebecca.
My GGGFather was shot, I had previously stated that he was stabbed with a knife but my uncle corrected me, and he died on 10/24/1860.
If, we can connect my John P. with your John P. then that would fill in a lot of gaps for a lot of people who are looking for answers.
My ASSUMPTIONS, please stress ASSUMPTIONS, are that my John P. and your John P. are one in the same.... but I would feel a lot better if we could verify this connection with back up documentation.
I will continue to search on my end.
