Alright all you Harrahs. Not a week goes by that we don't get asked THAT question, especially those of us who live in the west. Who can claim William Fisk Harrah, founder of Harrah's Casinos, and show where he fits in the family tree? According to the Casino's bio "Uncle Bill" was born September 2, 1911 in South Pasadena, CA (Died June 30, 1978 in Minnisota.)His father's name was John Harrah.
The Harrah Museam web site says it has artifacts from his grandmothers, Cornelia Meyer Fisk and Anna Garrett Harrah (married 1881). They also refer to a great aunt and uncle; Dr. Sarah F. Harrah and Rev. Charles C. Harrah. I suspect the women's names are not maiden names.
