I found most of the children of Valentine Harman and Nancy McCarter.Valentine died in october 1849 at Oktibbeha County, Mississippi according to the 1850 census mortality schedule. Nancy married secondly, James H.. Dorris on 10 Nov 1868 at Oktibbeha County, Mississippi.
Here are the children of Valentine and Nancy;
1. Matilda C. Harman, b. 25 Feb 1822, Alabama. d. 15 Dec 1882, Oktibbeha County, Mississippi.She married Joseph Hilliard Embry on 17 May 1836.
2. Daughter, b. c1824.
3. Daughter, b. c1826.
4. Laura T. Harman, b. 1828, Alabama. She married Robert Keeling in about 1847.
5. John Harman, b. c1829/1830, Pickens County, Alabama.
6. Elizabeth Harman, b. 1831, Pickens County, Alabama.
7. Thomas B. Harman, b. 1835, Pickens County, Alabama.He was severely wounded at the Battle of Vicksburg in June 1863 and was captured on 4 July 1863.He was paroled by the Union Army on 16 July 1863. He drove a wagon for the 35th Regiment Mississippi Volunteers.
8. James H. Harman, b. 1838, Choctaw County, Mississippi. In 1860 he was a 22 year old physcian.
9. Eliza Harman, b. 1840, Choctaw County, Mississippi.
10. Joseph Harman, b. 1842, Choctaw County, Mississippi.
11. Stephen T. Harman, b. Aug 1845, Oktibbeha County, Mississippi. d. 12 Sep 1915, Tarrant County, Texas.He married Martha J. Buntine on 1 Sep 1868 at Oktibbeha County, Mississippi. He was a Private in Perrin's Battalion, Mississippi State Cavalry in 1863.
I am still looking for the missing two daughters.
