GEORGE M. HARMON
AUGUST 22, 1913
George M. Harmon died at the county home near Pontiac on Saturday (Aug. 16) last at about nine o'clock p.m., death being the result of paralysis and old age. The remains were brought to Chatsworth on Sunday where the interment took place, the remains being laid to rest in the Chatsworth cemetery.
George Melvin Harmon was born in Boston, Mass., July 9, 1844. When a young man he came to Illinois and located in Chatsworth, and during his early manhood he had a reputation as being one of the most industrious and reliable workers in the village. For a number of years he had been unsettled in his habits and residence, and had been a rover, until failing health compelled him to take refuge at the county home.
He is survived by one sister, Miss Hattie Harmon, and one brother, Bert Harmon, both of this city.
