MRS. WILLIAM PIERCY
JANUARY 1, 1925
Mr. William R. Piercy passed away at her home, three-fourths of mile west of Chatsworth, Monday evening, December 21. Death resulting from cancer of the liver. The body was taken to Darlington, Indiana, Tuesday afternoon, for burial.
Maggie E. Harmon was born Aug. 21, 1867, in Gibson county, Indiana and was the daughter of Alvin and Mary (Carter) Harmon. She was united in marriage with William R. Piercy Nov. 6, 1889. To their union four children were born, namely; Paul, who preceded her in death; Frank, of Eldora, Iowa; Louis, of Peru, Ill., and Mrs. Howard Read, of Piper City, Ill. In her early girlhood she was united with M.E. church of Rockwell, Ind., and had always lived in consistency with its teachings.
The funeral was held there on the afternoon of Dec. 24.
Mrs. Piercy's last illness was five weeks duration. She had suffered from cancer of the breast about two years but after an operation seemed to recover and the past summer enjoyed excellent health.
The family moved to Chatsworth from Piper City a year or so ago and the deceased was highly esteemed as a wife, mother and friend.
