Also from the book:"...Adam Harman was eldest brother of Mathias...Jeremiah Pate, Sr. deposed on Feb. 15, 1810, that in year??? he was traveling down Sinking Creek in company with old Adam Harmon and his son, Adam, when old Adam pointed out a marked tree and said it was the land of Uncle Valentine Harman."(Valentine being his brother, but generally called him uncle when talking of him with his sons.) Young Adam Harmon became Valentine's heir because his brother Jacob's son, Jacob Harman, was "Rakish" inclined and old Valentine never liked him."I don't know what "Rakish" meant in those days, but don't think it was a good way to be.
According to the book, Mathias or Ticy, never had a daughter Rebecca.
I am still looking for the parents of Barbara Harmon, b.1775 m. Solomon Farrington. They named first boy Solomon and second son, Daniel Harmon Farrington.I think her father is Adam Harmon in Rowan County, N.C. but can't prove it either.
