I think there is a good background on Johann Michael Harmon in a lengthy study of the Pipes family of Mercer Co. KY. Its on the web so you can Google it. I hope it gives you useful info but remember there were hundreds of Harman/Harmon/Hermann family origin stepping off of boats in this country over the 200+ years leading up to the civil war. Even if you can get your line cose enough in time and geography to claim kinship with one of the sever or eight well-known Harmon lines, there will always be the chance (statistically the likeyhood) your next generation back was one of those hundreds of unresearched lines. You might get more bang for the buck out of paying for DNA tests on likely next-generation-back candicates whth a lot of research on his line. But first, make sure you are satisfied with his research. Good luck. Jim Harmon
