Hello Jim,
I descend from George Farmer and Catherine Harmon from their son Henry.
Adam and Nancy Harmon were Catherine's parents.Very little records or mentions of Adam Harmon in Early TN records but can trace Widow Nancy Harmon in census from 1820-1860 for the Humphreys/Benton County area. I also pick up the newly married youngsters John L. Farmer and Felty P. Farmer in Claiborne Co., Mississippi 1830 & 1840 census. (It is supposed that George bn 1795 is the son of Felty P Farmer of NC and George's 2nd marriage 1843 was to Widow Elizabeth Farmer-Holland daughter of Conrad Farmer of NC) so this younger Felty P. Farmer is of interest to me.
In the 1850 census Nancy Harmon is 70 yrs old approxly bn 1780 in NC but in 1860 census she is 85 yrs bn in VA so maybe Adam and Gideon Harmon are siblings/cousins?
1812 Tennessee Tax lists has Daniel Harmon listed in return of Capt People's company.
It is mentioned in Benton County Pioneer David Benton's Bio that when he originally relocated to the area he was rejoined with his closer Benton & Melton families and accepted into Adam Harmon's neighborhood (later named Harmons Creek).David Washington Benton (David's son) was married to Elizabeth Farmer (Bn 1815) parentage unknown (is supposed to be George's dau but not listed with him in 1820 or 1830 census)
Farmer's and Harmon's I am still trying to sort them out, but hope this helps someone out.
