Harman family originally from Germany

I am a direct Harman descendant, recently starting family research. "My" Harman family (mother's side) originally was from Hirschthal, Germany, and the name at that time was Herrman. My direct line immigrated to Philadelphia in the mid 1700's, settled west of Philadelphia (near Gettysburg), my mother's direct line eventually migrating through Virginia to Ohio, then extreme northwest corner of Missouri (Nodoway County).
