I have family who were married in Germany.
Some of the obits and notes have mentioned Kiel and Marme.

Johann Henry Johannsen born: 4/26/1854 and Ida Margaretha Weetz 9/22/1863 both in Germany.
Married: 9/22/1883 in Germany.

They came to the US in 1895 with three children listed on the ship that sailed from Hamburg Germany.
Sophie - born 11/26/1882
Julius - born 3/18/1887
Charlie - born 11/25/1892

One additional child has a birthdate before they came to US...
Herman August - born 8/9/1889
His birth certificate says: Frederik VII Koog Germany. Mothers Maiden name on certificate: Weets

Johann Henry Johannsen had a sister Kate who was born 5/7/1851 or 1852.

Ida Margaretha Weetz parents were John Weetz and Margaret Harms. Additional children besides Ida, Lisa, Harm, Martin and John.

All of these people settled in Scott County in Davenport, IA.
