I have been researching the names on a memorial in Sheffield, England which remembers the men of the Postal Service who fell in the Great War 1914-19 The result of this research is on my website http://www.stannington.webitsmart.co.uk/ in the 'Sheffield' section. There are details relating to George Winchester Harley and his family . in the 1901 census he was a telegraph messenger. His parents were Herbert and Priscilla (Nee Barrowcliffe) Harley. I'd like to know more about his family, brothers, sisters etc. Also if there is any reason for his second name, Winchester. He was a member of the KOYLI. He is buried in a cemetery which was used by field hospitals. so he may have died of wounds. Can anybody tell me more Kind regards Robert. Notify Administrator about this message?
