I don't think your Missouri Alice is the daughter of John Wayne Harless, his daughter was living at home in 1880 and aged just 14. Your Missouri Alice was already married and living with Lertie by then. I think your Missouri Alice may be the daughter of Henry Harless and Frances Sherman, the age is right and I have no record of her marrying anyone else. On the other hand I presently have her middle initial as R not A (could be a transcription mistake) and the 1880 census lists her parents as being born in Ohio, which is not correct for Henry and Frances, however they were married in Ohio and their first child was born there, so it is possible Missouri got that confused.
