Harkness Family in Biloxi, Mississippi

I'm researching the JOHN RANKIN HARKNESS/Irene Jordan family tree in Biloxi, Mississippi. Their children were William T., Giles Arthur, John Louis, Estelle "Stella", Abbie Althea and Edna Irene. This family were well known, prominent members of society who were pioneers of the city of Biloxi. They were builders, contractors, architects, Masons, Kings Daughters, church members and other philanthropic organziations.

What brought them to the Gulf Coast? They may have lived in Mobile on the way to Biloxi, but that's just a guess.

John Rankin Harkness was the son of William Harkness and Abigail Turner in Pelham, Amhurst, Massachusetts. The grandson of John Harkness and Keziah Edson.
