Hugh Harkins, lawyer & judge, Floyd Co., KY (1835-1869)

I am a descendent of John & Elizabeth Harkins of Blacklick Township, Indiana Co., Pa. They resided in the area from 1805 through 1840. They had a son, Hugh, born in 1805, and baptised by Father Peter Helbron on 12 August 1821. Family heritage passed on by an Aunt Susan Harkins said that she was related to a Judge Harkins, once living in Kentucky and somehow involved in the Hatfield-McCoy fued. Hugh Harkins, of Indiana Co., Pa can be found in the Census of 1830 with a wife and dependents, but is gone by the census of 1840.
There is a Hugh Harkins family of Floyd Co., KY, but the info provided by Winnie Fitzpatrick Johns would seem that he is not the same as the son of John Harkins. I was wondering if anyone might know where this Hugh Harkins studied law before going to Kentucky. Both were born in PA and both left in the 1830's. Mayby they are one in the same. Sure like to find out.
