I just checked Ackerman's genealogy of the Haring family, and I did find a Sadie who might be the person you are referring to. "Sadie M. Herring of Closter, NJ married Dec.7, 1887(?) to LeRoy Hopper of NYC. Son of Garret Voorhis Hopper and Eliza J. Hopper. Children Robert Voorhis and Margaret Jane." The fact that she named a daughter Margaret when the Sadie you want had a sister named Margaret might mean something. There are many Margarets in Ackerman's genealogy and I'll see if any are possibles when I have a bit of time. There were no Louellas in Ackerman's index. You perhaps should contact Maria Hopper, reetree@aol.com, who has been working on the Hopper genealogy for many years, and she may have information on this Sadie since she married a Hopper. Her website is at http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~reetrees/bhome.index.html
Incidentally, Tappan is in NY and Old Tappan is in NJ.
