More information on William Hargrave. He was baptised at Wakefield Parish Church (All Saints) U.K. in July 1815.
Went to the USA probably before 1841. He had a brother, John Hargrave, who also went to the USA.William
was in the Union army in the Civil War and died on December 13, 1862 at the first battle of Fredericksburg. He
would have been about 47 years old when he died. He was a bachelor. Since I don't know what state he was from
it is difficult. I have been trying to search rosters of regiments that were at Fredericksburg and there were many.
Most William Hargraves survived the war. The only one I have found that did not survive the war enlisted at
Rochester, NY but he was only 40 years old when he enlisted (this could have been recorded wrong), and I don't
know when he died, what unit he was with and whether it was at Fredericksburg. If I find a William Hargrave who
was a Union soldier, about 47 years old who died on that date at Fredericksburg I'm sure I will have the right one.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to attack this?
