I am a descendent of Thomas and Mary Polly through their daughter Jane King.I've also been trying to track down Abraham and Rebecca Floyd.Rebecca was born in the Pendleton District of SC.I've been in touch with some others researching her family, but no one knows her mother's name. Her father was William Floyd.
I found one Jacob Hargus in Pendleton Dist., SC in the 1800 census. He is listed with: 1 male under 10, 2 males between 10 and 16, 1 male over 45; 2 females between 10 and 16, 1 female between 17 and 26, 1 female over 45; and 7 slaves.I've never seen any mention of this family on this forum, but... I could have missed something. He doesn't show up in SC in 1810, but an Abraham and a James are there. This could be our Abe, but where is Abner?Abner (who married Nancy Smith) is thought to be Abe's brother. He was in Marion County until 1850 when he shows up in MO.
