A biography/family history of Frank E. Hardy, Richland County farmer, is included in "Montana, Its Story and Biography", Vol 3, page 988.
Frank was born, 30 Oct 1881, son of William and Mary Ann (Agnew) Hardy. William Hardy was born in Dublin, IR; located to Wisconsin in 1866 and died there during Frank's childhood. Children of William and Mary Ann Hardy: Henry, John, Samuel, Frank E. and Charley, all of whom reside in the vicinity of Sydney, MT; Jennie (Mrs. George Brannon, Fairview, MT); Lizzie (Mrs. W.M. Lewis, Sioux Pass, MT); Sadie (Mrs. W.M. Hartley, LaCrosse, WI).
Frank first came Mondak, MT, then he and his brother, John, set up homesteads two miles from Sioux Pass, in the northeast section of Richland County, MT. His sister, Lizzie also came with them. Sam, Charles, and Henry Hardy had preceded them to Montana and formed a company and cattle business in the northern part of old Dawson County, MT.
Frank Hardy did not marry. He died at age 57, 18 Jul 1938.
