Hardy Documentation, John Hardy m. Olive Council, 1632 and had among other issue: 1. John Jr. made a will Oct 7, 1676, probated June 9, 1677; names his wife, Alice Hardy, Daughters, Olivia Driver, Lucy Council and Deborah Hardy He married Alice Johnson, a widow. They had: Olive m. Giles Driver; Lucy m. Hodges Council; Ann m. Robert Burnett; Isabel m. William Mayo; Deborah-untraced. 2. Olive m. John Pitt 3. George b. 1622 4. Richard b. 1640 ("Colonial Families of the Southern States of America", by Stella Pickett Hardy, p261-262)

Olive Hardy, d/o John Hardy was named in her father's 1676 will as married to Giles Driver and mother of Driver children was married 3X's. Olive Hardy m1 Giles Driver Children: Robert, Charles, Giles Jr, John, and daug. Hardy Driver. Giles Driver's will was probated on 9 June 1677, wife Olive was sole executrix. His nephew, John Council, and newphew-in-law, Richard Wooten (husband of Lucy Council) appraised Giles' estate. (W&DB 2, p.146) (IOW Great Bk, p.133-4). Olive Driver, relict of Giles Driver m2 John Bromfield in 1677 (W&DB1, p.431 & W&DB 2, p.454). They had a daug. Anne Bromfield (IOW WB2, p.225/appraisal of Bromfield estate). Anne is identified in her step-father's, John Pitt's (IOW W&DB 2, p.454). Olive Bromfield, relict of John Bromfield m3 Lt. Col. John Pitt and had 7 children: Robert, Sarah, John Jr., Prudence, Henry, Mary and James Pitt (Pitt's will proved on 9 Jan 1703)\/........

America's First Families, Ancestor Roll of Honor, Robert Pitt, Isle of Wight, Virginia (abt 1600-1674), "...The will of Robert PITT was written June 6, 1672 and proved June 9, 1674. At the time that the will was written, Hester PITT was married to the foremost citizen of Isle of Wight County, Colonel Joseph Bridger. She got little more than the mention of her name. She needed nothing. Her sister, Martha, got more, but she was instructed to give half of it to "poor women" and the other half to "poor female orphans". In memory of his dead wife, Martha, he left land and instructions that a home "twenty foots in length" be built, "which fore said land and housing is to be for the relief of poor women."

"Elizabeth and Mary got thousands of pounds of tobacco, the same as money in those days, Also, the girls got various odds and ends-furniture and drinking mugs. He was generous to his grandson given his name Robert PITT, son of Robert PITT, He made no effort to give out all of his wealth, so there was plenty to be divided by his son John, the executor. By the time he died, his children were not in need. He was more concerned about poor women and poor female orphans.

The first wife of Col.John Pitt was Sarah Moone, d/o of Capt. John Moone and his wife Susannah. Sarah was mother of all his children except the two youngest sons, Henry and James. Ann Pitt was d/o Col. John and Sarah Moone Pitt. I would like to have more on this family and descendents. Thanks! B.J,..........

I am married into the Moon family and compiling my husband's genealogy. Do you have all the names and appx.birthdates of John Moone and Susannah Moone's children? AND the dates of birth for James and Henry Moone - sons of John Moone and his second wife Prudance(she was a"Widow" Wilson and had at least one son named William Wilson?). Do you also have the appx. marriage dates of John Moone and his 2 wives? If you have this information and don't mind sharing, I would be very thankful. Thanks.
