I am tracing the following court records trying to determine the relationship of my HARDY line from Loudoun Co., VA to the ones in Charles and Prince George's counties in MD. (1) CHARLES COUNTY, MARYLAND RECORD : 17 Mar 1757...4 May 1757 MRS ELISABETH MASSEY CREDITORS : GEORGE HARDY, 3rd for EDWARD TRAFFORD, ESQ. in Liverpool. Next of Kin : JOHN TYLER, ELISABETH WOOD Execitor : MR. JOHN HANSON (1709-1795) (2) LOUDOUN COUNTY, VIRGINIA RECORD : 14 May 1762 EDWARD TRAFFORD, ESQ. against GEORGE HARDY, JR. and WILLIAM HARDY, SR. ...in debt...jury trial...Plaintiff to recover agst Defendants debt plus interest from 13 Dec 1742 with damages and costs. (3) LOUDOUN COUNTY, VIRGINIA RECORD : 10 Sep 1771 EDWARD TRAFFORD, ESQ. against GEORGE HARDY and WILLIAM HARDY, SR. ...jury...owed tobacco and shillings from 13 Dec 1752. I understand GEORGE HARDY, JR. and WILLIAM HARDY, SR. did not pay their debts and were brought to court but I have been trying to trace this GEORGE HARDY, JR. and WILLIAM HARDY, SR. along with HANSON HARDY son of WILLIAM HARDY and wife SARAH (unknown) and my 4th great grandfather SOLOMON HARDY, JR. (not the same one that married RACHEL LIVERS). My 4th great grandfather SOLOMON HARDY, JR. married MARTHA (unknown) and had daughter ELIZABETH who married DAVID HARRIS in Loudoun. SOLOMON was born about 1746 in MARYLAND and removed from Loudoun to Bedford Co., Va. where his will was filed in 1825. These court records are the first really important clue to tracing my lineage from Loudoun to Charles and Prince George's Counties. Especially important is MRS. ELISABETH MASSEY with GEORGE HARDY, 3rd and EDWARD TRAFFORD, ESQ. appearing in MD and then some of those same individuals appearing in Loudoun, Co., Va. Any help would be appreciated.
