I don't know anything about John Hardisty, other than he married my great great grandfather's sister Abigail, after her husband dissappeared from any records. The daughters married a Moore and a Babbitt. They were from Fountain County, Indiana, USA. A John Hardisty did own a mill in Fountain County. So far, I have found 4 Gay children and 2 Hardistys. The Knox County, Illionois history lists 5 other siblings in the Hardisty family. I assume that this is 4 Gays and 2 Hardistys. William Tell and Elisabeth Hardisty Moore lived in Knox Co. before moving to Dallas Co., IA.
