Angie,
I have a Golden Hardison in my family. I do not know very much about him except that he was the son of Durham Hardison(1824-1897)and Magaret Waters(1835-1925).He lived in Martin County between Jamesville and Farmlife. This area is close to Washington, NC. Golden married Sally Waters and moved to Cove City, NC. My great aunt told me he had 2 sons and 2 daughters. I do not know when Golden died but I have been told Sally remarried after his death. The names of Golden's children according to my aunt were:
Descendants of Golden Hardison-born approx. 1869.
Golden Hardison
+Sally Waters
1.Alphonso Hardison
2.Clifton Hardison
I do not know the girls names.
I am intrigued by your Ethridge Golden Hardison because of the name Golden. It is not a common name and my Hardisons and Waters have relatives in Beaufort County. The Waters family was from Pinetown which is in Beaufort County.
I do not know the children of Alphonso or Clifton Hardison.
There is another Golden in my family tree which I know even less about. He was the son of Durham Hardison the second(1861-1897) and Mollie Basnight. Durham the second died young and his wife moved away. It is my understanding that most of her children were put in a home or an adoption facility. One of those children was also named Golden Hardison. I would guess his birthdate as the late 1890's.
Do you think there is a connection?
Diane
