JASPER HARDISON, Boston to NC
I had an opportunity to spend 2 days at the York Co, Maine Courthouse a number of years ago. Did not find any mention of Jasper Hardison although I think he was there for a brief period but did find the following:
.Noyes, Libby and Davis - Genealogical Dictionary of Maine and New Hamphire
a. William Carkeet in 1654 on Tho Redding's plantation in Saco - md 25 Sept 1655 - maybe md Margaret Wadock, widow - he d 20 Mar 1666 - appeared to have only one child William
b.William Carkeet - Master of Sloop Endeavor - Boston to Va 172- - md Lydia Glanfield on 10 May 1686 in Salem - children of William and Lydia
Lydia - b 31 Aug 1686
William - b 18 April 1689
Robert - b 11 Nov 1697
Benjamin - b 13 Oct 1706
Mary Hardison daughter of Jasper md Benjamin Carkeet. Jasper first purchased land in NC in 1722 and the above entry probably indicates he arrived in NC aboard the Endeavor with William Carkeet. Boston records need to be checked which I have not done.
