Most of what I know about her parents, I have gleaned from World Family Tree through Rootsweb.According to what I have found, they were the children of Joseph Tomlinson and Mary Merrick. There is a will evidently that names Mary Tomlinson as a child of John Merrick who died in Lower Dublin, Philadelphia Co., Pa in 1732.I have not checked this personally.More interestingly, Mary Tomlinson, the sister of Eleanor who married Robert Comfort, father of both Phebe Harden and Rachel Harding according to his 1804 will, married William Atkinson. They were the parents of John Atkinson whose sons, John and Samuel maried, respectively, Elizabeth Harding and Mary Harding. In the 1850 Bucks Co. census, RachelHarding, age 84, is in the household of Samuel and Mary.
You had asked about why Sarah and John Twining were not in the 1835 Orphan's Court file.I know in the southern states they would not be included if they purchased the farm because their portion would have been deducted from the sale price. Both were still living in 1835, probably in Philadelphia. My great-great-grandparents were married in Philadelphia that year.John died 1853 and Sarah died 1870 according to a book on the Twining family.Where I have been able to verify things, this book has been very accurate.
