MRS. FRANKLIN T. SCANLON A memorial service was conducted April 3, in Chattanooga, Tenn., for Mrs. Helen Hardesty Scanlon, formerly of Morgantown, W. Va., but for years a resident of Chattanooga, Tenn., who died April 2, at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Spencer J. McCallie, Jr., of Chattanooga. A graveside service was also held in Morgantown Thursday. Mrs. Scanlon, an aunt of Mrs. Harry G. Athey, of Summit Point, was born in Clarke County, Va., a daughter of the late Charles R. and Lydia Bell Hardesty. Her husband, Dr. Franklin T. Scanlon, died in 1944. For a number of years she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Morgantown and at the time of her death she was a member of the Central Presbyterian Church of Chattanooga. Surviving with her daughter are a son, Franklin T. Scanlon, Jr., of Tuscon, Ariz., seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
